We at BPC
have been quick to recognise the advantages in
streamlining the operations and maintenance
activities of Bainounah Power Company. The two power
stations of Bainounah, ADPS and Al Ain, have similar
maintenance requirements which, can be carried out
more cost effectively by utilising well trained
maintenance crews, and limiting expensive contract
maintenance. Bainounah Power Company is fortunate
in as much that we have well experienced staff with
proven capability in undertaking extensive
maintenance of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines,
Boilers, Distillers and auxiliary plant. Indeed many
of our employees have been involved with running and
maintaining power generators and water desalination
units, in some cases from when the plant was first
commissioned.
In the past, we have operated and maintained all
our plant in accordance with stricte OEM
recommendations. And over the years, our efforts
have ensured the highest possible standards have
been used when undertaking all maintenance
activities. As a result, we have some of the most
reliable machines within the system, despite their
age, and indeed this was recognised by the comments
made in the Bechtel Master Plan for 1998.
In meeting the challenges which lie ahead, we are
always mindful of the continuing search for ways to
improve the performance of our powerplants and
desalination units within the company. In fact, we
have already carried out a number of significant
improvements to some of the plant, resulting in
increased unit output and station reliability.
There is no doubt that we at Bainounah Power
Company are committed to achieving success in this
new venture. We will continue to strive towards even
more cost-effective measures to improve the overall
performance of all our fixed assets. It is an
exciting and challenging time for us and we have
every confidence that we will prove to be one of the
most highly regarded companies operating in the new
power and water sector. |
